Partnerships

Do you want to ensure clawed lobsters are available well into the future to support the next generation of lobster professionals and fishermen?

Partnership working is a new and exciting part of SHS.  Whether it’s working with like-minded people, charities, fishing groups, forward looking businesses or public-sector partners, it’s an approach that allows us to have the most impact on ensuring we have a clawed lobster fishery now and well into the future.

Want to find out more about how you can make a real difference in coastal communities by becoming a SHS partner? Contact us here.

SHS has been involved with practical coastal community projects with forward thinking corporate, public sector and charity groups for over 8 years. These partnerships are making a difference to coastal communities, creating employment opportunities as well as healthier and better local fisheries.  By combining our local knowledge and talented team of professionals you too can deliver high impact projects that can potentially change lives in coastal and regional communities across both the UK and the globe!

FAQs

Traditionally Artemia nauplii and frozen krill, however, these feed types can be vectors for the introduction of bacteria.  Here at SHS, we recommend our own feed products, which are a complete source of nutrition that are free of bacteria. They are highly attractive to and ingested by clawed lobsters.

Our new range of Aquahives can be fitted with optional flow meters. We highly recommend this addition, as for even seasoned operators ensuring the correct flow of water and exchange rate are critical for any hatchery’s success. If you’re unable to have a flow meter installed, we recommend the maximum flow rate you should operate your Aquahive is 6000L/h.

We certainly do, in fact we have a showcase location here in the UK through our sister company Orkney Shellfish Hatchery where you can experience all of our innovative products and even walk through an operating Hatchery in-a-box.
